About the Artists
1. Stephane Gilles: Stephane began on the underground Compas circuit with Sweet Groove in 2000 and has since gone on to produce tracks for some of the biggest names in Compas. Stephane was also a member of Sweet Micky, the biggest band in Compas music.
2. Nickenson Prud’homme: Nickenson is the lead keyboardist for Zenglen, one of the most popular Compas bands of the last ten years. He recently produced last years smash hit ‘Decepcion’.
3. Fedner Orelien: Fed has played bass for the last ten years and began with Sweet Groove alongside Stephane Gilles. He has toured extensively with Jackie Rapon, a popular artist from the French Antilles. Fed is also an accomplished songwriter in his own right and his will be released later this year.
4. Frero: Frero is the lead singer of Zenglen and performs alongside Nickenson Prud’homme. Frero has recently begun to pursue his solo career while he continues his relationship with Zenglen.
5. Jean Marc Schomberg: A relatively new artist to the scene and brings a unique reggae style to the album. His debut album will be released early 2007.
6. Reginald Cange: Reginald is the other lead singer in Zenglen and is widely recognized as one of best Compas vocalists in the business. He recently achieved solo success with Mamina, a female saxophone player from the French Antilles.
7. Elie Lapointe: An upcoming solo artist who is vocalist, guitar player and songwriter. He follows a traditional Compas style and is building a name for himself in the business.
8. Regine Madhere: A very talented female artist who has performed as a backing singer for many Compas bands. She is building her solo career under the guidance of Stephane Gilles.
9. Hervey Jacques: Hervey is the twin brother of Herley Jacques who is the lead singer of Nu Vice, a group whose members include the legendary guitarist Robert Martino and one of the leaders of the new generation Compas style, Robert Charlot.
10. Carimi: One of the biggest bands in the French Caribbean today. Recently featured on the Putumayo: French Caribbean album their crossover Compas style attracts fans from around the world.
